When you're a shinobi preparation is an essential part of your daily life but when you're a puppeteer it's the kind of essential that dictates life and death. One unprepared moment and it'll be too late to cover for. Jin's art was puppetry. He had yet to actually use a single puppet in his battles. For now, he had been relying on chakra strings in combination with kunais and shurikens. And so far, that had been getting the job done. However, it wouldn't be enough. The path of the shinobi was never so simple. If he stayed at this level, it'll be okay but it wouldn't be what he needed to reach his goals. No, this kind of strength and skill wasn't even close. He needed more. So he had asked a fellow Tataru to train with him because he was only comfortable with other Tataru.

He had made a puppet and wanted to test it out. Only by testing could he learn what he needed to add more and what was lacking. By simply running battle situations in his mind, he couldn't possibly predict every battle requirement needed. And since the person training was him was another Tataru, he knew he didn't have to hold back. Tataru were a tough bunch. They had seen a variety of horrors growing up. Each had their own demon in their past. None would probably disclose the details to the other but each knew it, felt it.

As was his signature attire, today too he was wearing his long coat with the feathery texture and his makeup was skillfully in place. The only thing different about him was the six feet tall and four feet long puppet with him. He had brought Hikari with him today; his first ever puppet. The puppet he had made from the body of a white tiger. He hoped that the puppet would be interesting and should probably yield favorable results. Only one way to find out though. Before the other Tataru prepared himself, he had decided to make some last minute adjustments. He wasn't going to use the Tataru way of using a puppet just yet. That would come later. For now, he wanted to learn more about puppet control using chakra strings. Concluding his adjustments he stood up and turned to face the Tataru who would've arrived by now. He placed his hand on the giant puppet by his side. All he needed to do was use a jutsu and attach the strings to the puppet.

"Ready, Alaude?" he would inquire, it was only honorable to make sure his dear cousin was prepared to begin the training.

Today was an important day for Alaude... This would be the day he would commit to advancing in his Ninjutsu train or at least become more accustomed to using ninjutsu as a whole. Although his current arsenal of jutsu consisted of only the three basic academy jutsu he would use them to the best of his ability. He couldnt stay a beginner forever. Hell Alaude would even take the name title of novice if it served to push him closer to his goal.

To push himself to reach new heights Alaude would meet with one of his brethren one who had just as much to learn from this training session then himself. Jin the puppeteer in training was a great sparing partner, not only would training against his puppet be ideal to avoid unnecessary injury, but it was also give the make up covered man a chance to test his puppets.

Alaude would observe and take in every detail about his surroundings as he could from the multiple trees surrounding the training grounds from several hundred sizeable rocks in which could be used as projectiles for defense. There had been a small pond near rhe main area of the training grounds but nothing to useful at this moment.

Before Alaude would respond to Jin he would take a long look at the beautiful white tiger puppet, it was going to be difficult fighting against that thing even more so with Jin controlling it, all of the Tatatru had great understanding that none of them should go easy on each other it was an unspoken agreement... Stepping forward in his all to familar black pseudo samurai attire, the black and white haired boy would nod to his feathered coat cousin, "Maybe I should get us started..." Alaude would begin sprinting at Jin at top speed, was it the best idea against a puppet of course not but there was not much for the False Samurai to do but to rush foward giving him time to analyze the puppet but he of course would not run in half cocked.

Alaude after preforming the Ram, Snake, and Tiger seals Alaude would make five perfect clones of himself. The boy in conjuction with the five other clones would began shuffling back and forth as they raced toward thier opponent this would allowed for the original Alaude to kick up a large cloud of dust into the sky to surround and concealing the movements of clones but also rid himself cover each of them in a thick shadow to avoid being detected from the original of the group of clones. It was a brilliant idea in theory, it allowed for Alaude to turn the weaknesses of the jutsu into his strengths.

The dust cloud that covered the clones would not allow Jin to know which copy of Alaude had been causing the dust and yet it was still visable enough to confuse Jin on the true Alaude's positon. Using this to his advantage, three of the clones would break off from the group to leap towards the puppet.

They would aim to pin the beast down, while the remaining three would focus on its user. If the the strategy was succesful then two of the remaining clones would also leap towards Jin to Pin him down while the remaining possible clone could administer a strong punch to the puppeteers gut.

The biggest advantage that a puppeteer has is to keep the puppet between himself and the opponent. That way, the puppeteer actually avoids the battle themselves while the enemy fights a foe that they know defeating matters little until the original is taken out. However, this also implies that the biggest disadvantage for a puppet user is when the opponent, like Alaude, closes in the distance before the puppeteer can do anything. Things can go terribly wrong if the puppeteer's reaction time isn't in tune with their opponent. It was training though, the worst thing would be some cuts and bruises and finally the knowledge that they needed to improve a certain technique or style of fighting.

Alaude strategy of attack was simple but brilliant, rather simply brilliant. He moved quick and he made clones as he moved about. Jin knew what to do though, look at the feet; their should be shadows. The clones don't interact with the environment. Well, that sounds fine in theory but here's how that fails. Alaude covered everything as he moved. He kicked up a dust cloud and made it difficult for Jin to deduce which was the original and which was the fake. So, he immediately changed his trail of thought. Awaiting to find out which is the original and fake may prove painful for him. He needed to act otherwise. So he did.

As Alaude covered up his tracks, 5 strings generated from the hand that Jin had placed on Hikari. These strings attached to the entire body of the puppet, giving Jin full body control of Hikari. As the clones distributed in groups, the giant puppet was on its feet and prepared to have a go at them. They divided in groups of three, with the real one mixed within them. At this point, Jin still had no clue where the real Alaude was but he wasn't focusing on that anymore either. The clones got closer and Jin dashed backwards, putting Hikari between himself and the clones. As the puppet moved, he also aimed its head towards the clones headed towards the puppet and pulled a chakra string. The chakra string was attached to the mechanism built in its mouth. Its mouth opened and 5 kunai burst out from the projectile launcher. It was a burst shot, all 5 projectiles were launched at once. This was done with the distance between Hikari and the three clones coming for her in mind. All five projectiles would propagate straight towards the three clone dashing towards Hikari.

This would also be the time when the three clones headed for Jin would draw closer. So Jin would pull the strings once more, this time the entire puppet would turn quickly and slash ahead of the three headed for Jin. The slash wouldn't be a simple slash of the paw, it would be using the steel claws built in her right limb. The slash would be swift and horizontal, aiming to cut the approach of those attempting to get close to Jin.

Regardless of the outcome, Jin would also follow up with another 'attack'. While the puppet slashed, in that immediate moment, he would retrieve a smoke bomb from his pocket and drop right after the slash would happen. And he wouldn't even wait for the three seconds it would normally take to make the smoke bomb blow up. Jin would actually use the Ignition seal on the bomb to make it explode instantaneously.  So, Hikari's slash and then boom, smoke cloud at Jin's feet. In the midst of that smoke cloud, Jin would step further back, make the boar handsign and prepare himself for a substitution jutsu. If all failed, he would still have a way to get out of the place and keep Alaude within Hikari's range.

It seems that Alaude had underestimated the puppet, the white tiger had been much faster than than he had anticipated but that did not matter much Alaude needed to push through his defenses. It would appear that the puppet was about to both defend itself for the clones but also Jin from the group of clones. The puppet had first targeted the group coming directly after it, within that group the true Alaude had blended perfectly with the two clones. Being faced with five Kunai, the two clones would leap in front of the original shielding him from the flurry of kunai as he crouched behind them to ensure his safety. Allowing the clones to disperse after taking the projectile head on Alaude would purposefully collect two the the abandoned Kunai's as a perfect opportunity was rearing to close the distance between him and Jin was presenting itself...

The original Alaude watched as the puppet turned its attention to the other group of three by retracting its mechanical steel claws to slash at them. It would appear that clones would take a similar approach to survival as the original, instead this time a single clone would sacrifice by jumping into the slashing attack giving the remaining two time to leap back and avoid the assault. Seeing Jin not wasting anytime to defend himself the original Alaude could see a smoke bomb being thrown at the remaining clones from the group, "Now!"

Out of nowhere the original would began sprinting towards the smoke bomb as it exploded, just as Jin he had intended to use the cover of the smoke to concealing his movements yet again but this time he had something else in mind. Upon entering the thick cloud of smoke with the remaining clones, Alaude would toss one of the kunai's he had picked up earlier aside as he passed the remaining one to a clone on the left of him. He would then quick form the Dog, Boar, and Ram seals of the Transformation Technique allowing himself to be transformed into that of a kunai once again to be handled by the clone that was originally on the left of him. At this point the smoke would began clearing enough for the clone on the left to see his opponent once more.

Sending the clone on the right to once again rush after the puppet the clone of the left would run out of the remaining smoke cloud on the left side of Jin launching both the real and transformed Alaude directly at center of his chest avoiding any vital areas.. The plan wasn't as full proof as his last but false samurai was hoping that the smoke cloud and the remaining clones was enough to fool the other Tataru.

The smoke resulting from the smoke bomb was huge, it expanded to thirty feet in height and radius before it dispersed. So, it took its time while it did that. Thus allowing ample time for Alaude to do what he did. Jin obviously had no clue what was going on because he could not see through the smoke, just like how he had hoped his opponent would not be able to either. But he had expected this. It was a large smoke cloud, once used, his opponent would be able to use it. That's why he had already prepared his substitution jutsu. That was the one last surprise he had in his pocket.

Thanks to the smoke cloud, Jin was able to move more. One of his hands was constantly attached to Hikari, the chakra strings took up all five fingers. He still had one hand to spare though, so he went into his pocket and retrieved the five shuriken he had. This was the last bit of his arsenal. He intended to use it wisely, most likely in conjunction with his trump card. So he attached five invisible chakra strings with those five shuriken. This was all done within the smoke and it was finished as the smoke dispersed; he was prepared by then.

The smoke cleared and one of the clones (or the real Alaude) emerged from the left and another from the right; and the third one was gone. There was no third one. That was weird, weren't there three? Something happened in that smoke; didn't it? That caught his eye but he could only mentally prepare himself. That was the only time window he got because immediately after appearing one of the clones went for Hikari while the other threw a kunai at Jin.

As a reaction, Jin immediately threw the five shuriken in his hands (which were also tied with invisible chakra strings) towards the kunai. One of the shuriken would meet each of the kunai in mid flight, deflecting them away from Jin and Hikari. Then Jin would pull on his strings, attached with Hikari. Hikari's right arm would move once more, aiming to slash at the incoming Alaude. Was this the real one? He didn't know but he wasn't going to let it come closer. This wasn't the only action he took. He took two simultaneous actions.  His other hand pulled the invisible chakra strings, so all the five shuriken. Including the one that deflected the kunai away from Jin and Hikari went straight for the clone that had threw the kunai towards him. Using the invisible chakra strings, he was able to manipulate their trajectory as such that two came at the clone from the left, two from the right and one from above. The one from above was high because it was the one that deflected the kunai and had thus gained height but didn't stop spinning because of Jin's control.

Jin continued to keep his substitution jutsu in his back pocket. For now, he didn't need to use it. Alaude was one cunning fellow. He could feel it. He knew that Alaude would do something witty next.

That plan had gone much better then Alaude figured it would. What the boy did not take into account was the fact that Jin had additional weapons stored away on his person, it was foolish to that the puppeteer would leave himself defenseless but at this point that did not matter. The transformed Alaude and the kunai thrown by the clones had be deflected and thrown off their original path and sent flying away from the main puppet and Jin. While normally this would have been the issues both of the real and fake kunai were sent flying high into the branch of a near by tree. The four remaining kunai aimed towards the two defenseless clones would be enough to send them packing in a cloud of white smoke but they would give the original Alaude just enough time to return to his normal state.

Grabbing the kunai that was lodged into the branch next to him the false samurai would run the entire length of the branch leaping from it and back towards Jin, he could once again be seen forming hand signs for the clone technique again but this time he only summon two clones, in which would help to propel Alaude forward even faster before dispersing again to close the distance between him and Jin. Alaude was sure to keep the kunai with him this time in case the shuriken followed but in any case the false samurai would aim a strike directly at his soul brother's right shoulder. Even if by some chance Jin had used his puppet to block for him Alaude had planned to attack one of the well known weak point of the puppets their joints if he had too.

The fight moved on, neither Tataru gave way to the other. Time passed by and things moved fast. Jin was constantly being reminded that he was expending chakra like a lady on a shopping spree. He had to stop, it was seeping through his hand and body. Sweat had begun to roll down his makeup face. The good thing about this was though, that his makeup was water proof. No sweat was doing nothing to that makeup. And the other good thing was, he was having fun. Alaude was just as he had expected and more. Creative, fast, merciless and giving it his all. Jin too was giving it his all but pinning Alaude down was no joke; the fellow was really talented.

Jin and Hikari's attack landed on target but it was revealed that they just hit smoke; quite literally. Alaude wasn't one of them rather, he was actually a transformed kunai. Who could've seen that coming? Jin noted this trick down, it would definitely be invaluable. The combination of clone jutsu with transformation jutsu. It was just brilliant. Sure, in this instance Alaude was an opponent but he couldn't look past the fact that Alaude was a fellow Tataru, a brethren and a friend. He felt pride in having such a talented ally. Finally, Jin's shuriken made their way back to Jin and held them again in his five fingers. They were attached to invisible chakra strings, they weren't going anywhere unless Jin wanted them to.

Alaude's follow up was quick and almost caught Jin off guard. The clones appeared and made his descent towards Jin much quicker. A smirk would appear on Jin's face, at such a speed; would Alaude be able to turn or back away? Probably not but who knew. Regardless, he waited a moment and allowed Alaude to come right to his level. Just when the kunai's blade was inches away and then he would activate the substitution jutsu. Even though Jin could move away for at least 10 meters, he chose to substitute himself with a nearby rock. The rock appeared where Jin would be standing and unless Alaude changed the trajectory inches before Jin's substitution the kunai would find itself piercing the rock. Immediately following Jin's substitution, Hikari would swing its right claw (the one with the steel claw mechanism) but would bring it to a stop before it could actually touch Alaude. The limb would be swung horizontally and would, if continued, slash through Alaude's torso.

Jin wouldn't want Alaude to be actually hurt. Hopefully, that would be Jin's win. Unless of course, Alaude had another plan and actually prevented the Kunai from getting stuck in the rock. Or Alaude could just leave the kunai in the rock and step back but then if Hikari's claw had kept moving it would've still done some serious damage. Therefore, Jin was confidentially assuming this to be his victory if it happened this way.

Doing these actions would bring Jin to quite a worn out state, if Alaude did find a way to continue the fight then it would be definitely Alaude's win since Jin would no longer be able to fight more. I mean, look at that chakra expenditure, whew!

Stalemate had this entire fight been neither side capable of pushing their target or full stopping thier target, Alaude without any jutsu surpassing the traditional academy jutsu was incapable of penetrating or forcing his way through Jin's defenses. Despite giving it his all the false samurai had not even laid a hand on his Soul Brethen. This has completely agitated Alaude, all this did was show him they he needed to work harder, be faster, learn more...

His current abiltiies were no longer enough for his to get by. As Alaude would rush towards Jin from the sky aiming to strike him he could see the activation of the substitution jutsu replacing him with an rock big enough to stop the kunai and Alaude. Knowing that this would leave him open to an attack from Jin's puppet Alaude, would push off the rocket before preforming the Dog, Boar, and Ram seals for the final time. Once again had Alaude activated the trasnformation technique returning himself to a transform into mouse capable of avoiding the incoming assault of the puppets mechanical claws...

Upon moving two meters away from the puppet he would return to his normal state, "Alright, Jin I think that is enough for today..." That was all the false samurai could say, before walking towards the feline like puppet and raising its claws to cut deep enough into his forearm to cause a scar, it was clear that this was Jin's win but that was not why Alaude had scratched the claws into his arm. No he needed something to signify his loss, something to remind him to push himself harder to become the ninja he wanted to be, he needed to be.

If that had been an actual fight he could have easily ended up dead which was something else the scar would remind him of... He would bow to Jin before turning and walking off, there was nothing more that he had to say and knowing Alaude, Jin wouldnt expect him to say much. The false samurai would disappear into a thick patch of trees after a few seconds the only traces of him left behind was the blood from his clawed forearm. He did not take a loss very well.

This spar session had been a learning experience for Jin. He understood that his puppet was inadequate to really deal some serious damage. He needed more equipment, he needed more weaponry. Sure, things may be different with poisons but would they really make a substantial difference? Was one puppet the way to go? Definitely not. Alaude has just proved that one puppet was definitely not the way to go. A single puppet could not cover for Jin and deal with all enemies. His preparation was inadequate and so were his skills. He needed to improve. He learned a lot from this sparring session, ways to use the academy jutsu in a way that could corner a foe; even a foe with a puppet by his side.

Jin was beat, he had no more energy to spare to do more. Doing more would be pushing himself to the extreme and for a learning experience, he wasn't quite ready to faint just yet. Oddly enough, his half baked plan worked and Alaude finally announced the conclusion of the battle. Immediately after Alaude said that they should stop the fight, Jin fell on his knees deactivating all his jutsu and the chakra strings. He was too tired to even stand at the moment. So that begged the question. Did Jin really win the fight? Probably not, Alaude could have sucker punched him anytime. He was just lucky and having a giant puppet on his side was just one more plus.

The tired, sweaty and sorta breathless Jin could not have foreseen what followed after. Alaude actually walking towards the puppet and scratching himself with the steel claws of Hikari. Jin had been so tired that he didn't even retract those claws back into the puppet. He couldn't even protest at Alaude's actions nor could he stop him. He watched and shook his head, he did not like that. Using his puppet to harm a Tataru, he would never approve of that. Sure, Alaude must have some philosophical reason to harm himself like that but Jin did not approve of it. Regardless, he did not argue and allowed Alaude to leave the scene.

After that, Jin just fell on his back and stared at the skies above. He was awfully tired. He slept on the ground for two hours before finally recovering the energy to move. So he did, dragging the giant puppet with him as he did so. He really needed to get himself a scroll and seal the darn thing in it.
