This is the Mission: Fist Fight at the Port @Sei@Aito

____________

Hitomaro pushed the sun from his eyes, he really wasn’t a fan of the sun. It wasn’t his normal light sensitivity, nope, he was one hundred percent sober this time around and it was a helluva drag. What made the whole thing worse was how hot and muggy the it was is the small room above the small outpost he’d been shuffled off too as soon as he’d entered the port city. The tight fitting black, long sleeved shirt he’d worn was already sticking to him, didn’t help he was still wearing the heavy green flak jacket. At least he’d had the good sense to leave it open at the chest. He walked over to the nearby window that was letting the light flood in and pulled the wooden shades closed with a slight tug. The others would enter the city soon, hopefully the riots and gang fighting wouldn’t sweep them up before the local Shinobi could get to them.

Hitomaro fell to a knee and pulled the rolled manila folder out of the side pocket of his black cargo pants. The Kage was good about having these information packs sent before a mission began, not only that they were damn good sources of local information. Hitomaro had read his dozens of times since he got it. He didn’t need to, it was just something he was doing to calm his nerves at this point. He was going to be in charge of this team, not only that he was going to be in charge of some incredibly inexperienced shinobi. It was a lot of pressure being in charge of other people's lives, he could practically hear the old man in the back of his mind lecturing him, reminding him to have thought out every scenario.

The others would enter the city like he had, the problem was that the two gangs, the Shakuheddo in the north of the city and the Marineros de Sangre in the south, had erupted again throwing the city into a state of chaos. When Hitomaro had entered gangs of ten to fifteen armed men swarmed him demanding allegiance, it didn’t take much to lose them but someone with less experience or talent then he had could struggle a bit. Had he not run into a local Chuunin he’d have struggled to navigate the maze of salt washed wooden housing and businesses to find a way into the local offices. The place was a complete mess.

The local Shinobi were already out there looking for his team, but with his limited knowledge of the area he needed to finish memorizing the map they’d left with him and start unraveling the mess at hand. He needed to hope that the other two would find the Chuunin and make their way to his location, if they didn’t arrive soon he’d take matters into his own hands and find them himself. He didn’t care how big a mess it would create if the gangs found out Yamagakure had sent a team in, the team was going to come first.

Alright guys, I’ve described the city a bit but you are encouraged to elaborate, a port city with a poor layout primarily made up of wooden housing and businesses. The two gangs at war are listed, why isnt so as we go along make sure you notice clues, talk to people maybe, but understand there are armed mobs that won’t be too happy to see you. There are local Shinobi out and about trying to help keep order, if you find them you can have them lead you to my location. You all would have gotten manila folders with information packets, it would give basic info on the gangs, the area, local assets, so you aren’t blind out there.

Katsu stood in the shade, his back against a tree and one of his hands running through his hair. He was outside of the port, near the southern gate, watching anyone walking in or out of the port. Shifting through his back pocket, he pulls out the folder he had folder up neatly and begins to sift through the information in the packet once more. "Go in and find some local shinobi to help us out. Seems simple enough," he thought to himself, his ears still perked up while waiting for whoever it was that was going in with him. Katsu sighed heavily before folding the folder up and placing it back in his pocket. He leaned back up against the tree, wiping the beads of sweat from his forehead.

"Hope they get here soon," he said out loud, before hearing loud racket coming from within the port. He stared over to the entrance, but decided to hold off. He did not want to go in by himself and make the mistake of getting lost. He lets out another loud sigh before he places his hand on one of his kunai, wrapping his hand around it tightly and removing it from his holster. "Just in case.. better to be ready." Katsu decides to get a better vantage point, though, so he turns his body towards the tree he was standing under. He places his kunai in his mouth to hold onto it. Concentrating on his chakra and sending it to his feet and hands, he was able to grab hold of the tree and begin throwing himself up the trunk, climbing as quietly as possible. A few scratches from the brush, but no big deal. He reaches near the top of the tree, stopping at around 20 meters. He swings himself up and onto a branch, making sure to steady himself. He looks back over to the port, attempting to spot where the loud noises were coming from but could not immediately. He removed his kunai from his mouth and held it tightly in his hand as he continued to watch the city, looking for anything significant.

He pinpoints the area that the scuffle was in, so he notes it for later. It's not near the gate, so should be easy to get through. "I'm sure the shinobi we need to meet will be around there.." He shrugs to himself then sits down on the branch he was standing on. His eyes dart around, hoping to spot who he is waiting for.

Sei lurked towards the meet up destination, his form slipping like a shadow beneath trees. The manila envelope secured at his waist within the confines of his military style coat made a soft crinkle occasionally. Today the boy had been sent on a mission to confront and quell the cause and effects of a violent bout of riots within a village of his homeland. He was aware that he would be the last to show up to his teammates, both of whom he was aware he had never associated with before. This was something he was not ashamed of. Prior to leaving for this mission, he'd taken the time to thoroughly memorize every detail within the manila packet. Already he knew the gangs involved and the path to their lead's location within the labyrinth of the city. His belief was to be as prepared as possible, and considering that they were to be sent out into territory where the actions of those inside were expected to be out of control and therefore unpredictable, it was in his best interest to know the information already given to him. His gaze flicked to the diminutive fox running by his side. He hoped Kamine would be safe and smart enough to stick close to him amidst the mess he was sure they were to encounter.

As he neared the village he alighted into the trees, traveling within the cover of shade and leaves. at the higher vantage point his golden gaze locked onto the other boy within a tree not too far ahead of him. He paused long enough for his fox friend to rejoin him on his shoulders, before taking off once more. He leaped branch to branch, his heels rapping softly against the wooden surface as he made his way over. With a light clack his feet connected with the branch the other boy sat upon, landing in a squat a small distance from whom he presumed was his fellow genin on this mission. His golden eyes took in the view of the port and gate. Even from this distance, his skilled hearing picked up the dull roaring sounds of chaos within the village as voices ricochetted off walls and through the air. The manilla folder had informed him of rioting, and indeed, he believed it would be a challenge for them to address. His blood burned at the thought of innocent civilians, families and the elderly, getting injured or even killed today. His fingers slipped into the fur on the head of the fox resting round his neck as he turned to speak to the boy beside him, "I know where we need to go." A statement - he wasn't much for greetings - that he hoped his teammate would understand, was his desire to avoid entangling themselves in a mess.

The gangs were getting more restless throughout the city, small groups of poorly armed combatants had already begun looting the town center. It was a war, anyone who hadn’t picked a side at this point was already in hiding, hoping the battle didn’t spill into their home. Hitomaro felt for them, wanted to step out and fight the battle on his own, but that wouldn’t fix the problem. The Denkikage could have sent a team in to kill the violent part of the populace if he wanted that done, no he wanted the problem solved in a less gruesome fashion. Hitomaro reached to the front of his black flak jacket and considered zipping it up. Still too hot for that.

Still no word from his two genin, it was really starting to bother him. He could leave and search for them, but honestly the port city was too large for him to have any real hope of finding them. He’d never have found the base had it not been for a guide, he had to hope they ran into one too. Until then he was stuck. If he left then he might miss them; but he wasn’t getting any closer to figuring out what started the gang war either.

He worked his hands quickly, forming handsigns with drilled precision before biting his right thumb and placing his now bleeding hand to the ground. Smoke enveloped him for a moment before clearing to reveal a tiny, black bodied salamander at his feet. “Heya little friend” He said affectionately as he lowered his hand so that it could crawl into his palm. “I’m going to leave you here for a bit, if anyone shows up looking for me you just need to get them to look at the note I’m leaving.” Hitomaro gave the creature very clear precise directions as a wrote and set a small note on a small table he’d placed the salamander.

The note was clear and precise, you can safely get to the town center then meet me there, if you can’t then bunker down, I’ll be back for you. Now he just had to hope that the small red bubbled salamander would be enough to get their attention if they showed up. After placing the note and making sure his small salamander friend was clear on her task he headed out to the balcony, leapin got the roof adjacent to where he was. He’d need to have a talk with someone leading one of those mobs if he wanted to get a lead.

He glanced towards the road that lead to Yamagakure, he should have just traveled with them, nothing he could do now but hope they were talented enough to deal with a violent populace.

OOC: Alright so keep in mind our mission is to find out what the issue is that’s caused both gangs to go to war and solve it. The issue for the sake of the story is that the leader of one gang supposedly kidnapped the son of the other gang, leading to a gang war. If you IC unravel this then you can decide which gang, the Shakkuheddo in the north or the Marineros de Sangre in the south, is the one holding the kid. Keep in mind the average mob person isn’t going to know this, the information will be help only by higher ranking gang members overseeing the carnage.

You can head to the meetup building and come into contact with my salamander, or you can follow the chaos towards the city center where we may eventually run into one another. Your choice depending on how you’d like to go about it.

Hearing something behind him, Katsu turns around from the port city to see a boy running through the trees towards him. “You know where to go, eh? Then lead the way,” Katsu said to the other genin, with a large smirk that ran across his face. “Just stick together and try not to get split up. It's getting restless in there.”

Katsu turned his head back towards the city, the sounds of screams and steel could be heard easily from our distance. He placed his hand around one of his kunai again, pulling it from its holster, his eyes darting to the boy and his fox. Katsu was nervous about this. He had trained for this, and thought he was prepared, but who knows what could be waiting for them in there? He ran his hands down his pocket, to make sure his materials were all with him. He ran his hand back over the packet he had received and removed it from his pocket. He glanced over it once more. “Two gangs to deal with..it won't be easy. So let's get started.”

He stood back up and darted down the tree he was still standing on, landing near the bottom of the trunk, still standing in the shade. He wipes some sweat off his face before stretching out his arms well above his head. This was his first C-rank mission after all, so it was normal to be worried and nervous, right? Hopefully it won't be too difficult to get into contact with our team leader. He nodded his head as he began walking towards the gate of the city, looking back for the other genin to catch up and lead us to wherever it was we were headed. “Hopefully you know where to go, heh,” Katsu shouted back to him with a light-hearted smile, followed by a chuckle. He decided to keep on smiling and was determined not to give off the sense of nervousness that settled in the pit of his stomach. He couldn't afford to be nervous anyways. He had a job to do.

He looked forward, towards the gate, and kept on walking, whether the other boy was following or not. He placed his hands back on top of his head and entered the port city through its gate, the sounds of the city's fighting hitting him constantly. Explosions, screams, and the clash of steel were ringing in his ears as he stepped into the city. “So this is it?” he said to himself, but the genin could probably overhear. “My god, this is brutal.” He stared into the street as he saw a group of six men fighting among themselves. He gripped harder on his kunai as he moved his body behind one of the buildings close to him, peeking around the corner to watch them. He decided that he did indeed have to wait for the other boy. This could be difficult..

Sei went into city with Aito. His opinion of Aito was okay, but he was yet to determine their compatibility. If the higher ps int he village had teamed them, then there had to be something that told them they would work well together. He eyed the group of six men blocking their path. An inconvenience, however he was quick to spot a solution. Sei indicated to Aito a ladder that lead up to the roof of a building, possibly a fire escape or some sort of maintenance its use wasn't entirely obvious. Without much explanation, as Sei wasn't the sort for talking, he ascended the ladder and lighted upon the roof. From there they would have a vantage point and could move more freely to where they needed to go, if they were to jump across building roofs. Sei's long legs were capable, and so he assumed Aito's were, too. They could do it.

On top of the roof he'd quickly say, "This way is the city's center. Our Chuunin is likely already there." With that, Sei would run and leap across to the next roof, landing with his knees bent for impact. He would continue to do this, fully expecting Aito at his side, until they reach a roof where down below was much more chaotic than anything they'd heard before. Sei would stop and crouch low to the roofing, peer over the edge out of sight of onlookers below, and state in his dull voice, "That's who we're supposed to meet with," as he indicated a blonde in the distance.

Hitomaro was scanning the city center now from a rooftop he’d deftly managed to end up on. He’d noticed more than one shoddily armed group patrolling the streets, no doubt looking for someone to fight or bully. The place had really gone to hell. Below him was a gruesome fight, men battering other men with fists, blunt objects, some sharp objects, probably thirty or so all battling it out wearing different colors. Hitomaro could at least take some relief from the fact that they had so far only targeted one another, leaving the people cowering in the shops and in their homes inasmuch piece as their carnage could afford.

Hitomaro zipped his flak jacket and looked around. He couldn’t sit by and wait on this to fix itself. In the very center of the brawl was a man wearing a red scarf around his neck, he was middle aged, had dark short cut hair, and a nose that had clearly recently been broken judging by the blood streaming down his face. That was who Hitomaro would need to talk to, the problem would come when he tried to extract the man. If he tried to walk in and force him out then the brawlers would turn on him, sure he could probably handle them but it would create a large scene than he had intended. No he needed to find a way to draw everyone's attention and then extract his target.

It was while contemplating that problem that from the corner of his eye Hitomaro saw something move on a nearby roof. He turned his head, someone was leaping from roof to roof in the distance. Hitomaro crouched down to make himself a smaller target and then pinned his eyes on whoever it was that approached, when they finally stopped he stood back up with a smile. Two young looking people, he couldn’t make out the detail but he was already feeling confident. Now all he needed was for them to act in concert with what he was about to do.

He formed a number of hand seals before biting his thumb and placing his hand firmly on the ground, a cloud of smoke erupted and with a thud a shorter red skinned salamander appeared. It was only about four feet tall, definitely one of the younger ones, and he proceeded to give the small salamander instructions before watching it scramble over the rooftops with surprising guile. When it reached the other two it would open it’s wide mouth, aim it’s bulging eyes, and say “He want’s you to catch that one while he draws all the attention away.” and with one of its three strange fingers it would point out the middle aged man with the dark hair, broken nose, and red scarf.

Hitomaro would make his move after it reached them, jumping to the ground, screaming and yelling insults at everyone involved in the brawl to draw all the attention he could. It worked to perfection, not only were they all hopped up on adrenalin but they really didn’t like Shinobi, and Hitomaro definitely looked the part right now. The group would clear, leaving the two younger Shinobi a chance to move in from behind, get ahold of the red scarfed leader, and detain him until their blond haired leader could get away from the crowd and return. On top of that they’d have his salamander there to lend a hand if they got in any real trouble.

Hitomaro turned and started to run, the others would only have a moment and they’d have to deal with about three or four stragglers, but they were just regular people, nothing that couldn’t easily be dealt with.

Alright, you capture the red scarf dude and clear out the stragglers. I will be back shortly. Keep in mind that you are not fighting Shinboi, just average people in a gang, try not to spill too much blood here.

Katsu stares down the main street, watching the six men when Sei walks up behind him. Sei pointed out a ladder, so Katsu follows him up, not quite ready to try fighting a group of six armed gang members. He would follow Sei as he began leaping across the roof tops, leading their way towards the center of the city, hopefully where their group leader would be found. Once the two reach the center, more loud noises are heard from just below. Katsu settles down beside Sei, who is near the ledge of the roof, and looks down below, staring at the groups of men who are currently fighting.

Sei then points out a man sitting on a few rooftops away from us, Katsu looks over and watches him. The man is looking towards us, so he can definitely see us. “Well that was easy,” Katsu says, followed by “Now what?” Katsu stands his body up from the ledge and backs up, so the gang members below would still be unable to see him. He wipes a few beads of sweat from his forehead and looks up towards the sky. 'Too damn hot out here,' he thought to himself before letting his eyes dart back over to the blonde man on the roof. He watches as the man begins to move, a slightly large salamander then appearing before the man.

Watching for a few moments, the salamander begins to make its way over to Sei and Katsu. Confused, he reaches his hand down to his leg holster and grabs hold of one of his kunai, gripping it tightly in his hand, just in case. Katsu places the other hand in his pocket as the salamander reaches the roof they are sitting on. The salamander passes on the message from the blonde man, and Katsu steps closer to the ledge. The salamander points out the man with the red scarf that the blonde man would like us to capture once he makes a distraction.

He watched the blonde man as he jumped down into the street. “He's just going in there directly?” Katsu asked, noticing that the other shinobi seemed pretty confident if he was going to do that. Katsu looked down to Sei and said, “I'll take care of grabbing the man. Follow me closely down the alley to the right of him. Make sure to pick off anyone that follows.” Katsu was so nervous, his stomach began to growl for a moment. But he couldn't let that stop him now. He breathed in and let out a huge breath, moving his hands together to create the signs of the Ram and then a second sign for Tiger. He began concentrating his chakra into the lightning energy that spread over his body. He had activated his Electric Current Armor. It made sense. Anyone that came into contact with him would be stunned and their simple weapons would be deflected for the most part.

Katsu stared down at the street, still hiding his body a bit from below. He watched as Hitomaro had gotten their attention and begun to flee with a majority of the crowd following him. Katsu reached into the pocket of his jacket, removing a two smoke bombs from it. He held both of the bombs between his fingers and his kunai in his left hand. He began sprinting then, not even looking back to see if Sei was following; he just expected him to. As he continued running along the roof tops, he stopped slightly when he reached a building closer to the man, making himself change direction. He did what he could to make sure he would land near the man, and pushed just enough power to his legs to reach with his jump.

Before jumping, though, he throws a smoke bomb, aiming for the man in the red scarf. As that lands and explodes, the smoke begins to cover the area around him. Katsu was not sure if it would be enough to cover the entire street, so he had the second one just in case. His worries were justified, as the smoke from the bomb barely covered half the street. He then landed in the middle of the smoke, still able to hear the man he was targeting. Just in case, though, he began moving his fingers into the sign of the Snake and the Dragon twice. He concentrated on his chakra, letting it eminate from his body and travel the 10 meters he could manage. The electric current that left his body would let him know who was within the smoke. Fortunately, there was only one: his man.

The man in the red scarf and the group around him had a little bit of time to react. The man in the scarf began to move away from the smoke, yelling at the top of his lungs, “Somebody is here for me! HELP!” Katsu smirked at his cry for help, and sprinted towards the man. He charged, slamming his body into the man, almost tackling him to the ground. The electricity current around Katsu's body would send a charge into the target's body, shocking and stunning him for a moment. His screaming stopped, but he continued to breathe easy. The group of four men had barged through the smoke and managed to get between Katsu and the alleyway. Katsu held the target's body up and placed his own kunai to the man's neck.

“If you don't let me pass, this man is dead.” Katsu spoke boldly and calmly. It seemed his nervousness had disappeared almost entirely. He was no longer worried; instead, he was calm, cool, and ready to complete the mission. The group of men laughed after Katsu spoke. They were not planning to let him or Sei pass. “Well, shit.” Katsu then drops the second smoke bomb that was still in his hands, letting it explode a meter from his own feet. He threw his kunai to his dominant hand and with a quickened pace, threw the man over his shoulder, letting the chakra move around the target's body, so as to not continuously shock him. He then sprinted from the smoke, sensing the group of men as they approached him, swinging their weapons wildly. One of the men got close with a sword swing, but Katsu was able to parry it with his kunai at the last second. In order to conserve his chakra, he deactivated his electric current armor and haze and continued through the smoke.

As he left the smoke and ran towards the alleyway, he felt the cold sting of steel strike the side of his right leg. He flinched a bit at the pain, but it was not enough to stop him. One of the men had thrown a shuriken through the smoke at him. Fortunately for Katsu, it was only a small scratch. A tiny bit of blood ran down the side of his leg but otherwise no big deal. He finally reached the alleyway with the man still over his shoulder. He looked back to see the men still stuck in the town center, looking for him. It did not take long for them to catch on, though, as they began running towards the alleyway as well. The chase was on, it seemed.

Sei was not the flashy sort. Or the run right in sort. Or the brawling sort. After the salamander delivered its message and Aito was quick to race off, Sei followed a distance behind, using Aito's actions to cover his own. As the other boy plunged into the plaza with a smoke bomb, Sei traveled the roofs still. As Aito fought and his assaulters occasionally stepped near the edge of a building, Sei hooked his legs onto the edge of a roof, turned upside down, and snatched them. His fingers jabbed into their necks in a way that they were knocked out.

He turned as a shout from their target in Aito's arms rang out. His eyes landed on four men that chased after Aito. Sei clambered back to the roofs, where he followed his comrade as he fought below. After the second smoke bomb, Sei let Aito run on, lingering back as the four adversaries caught onto  Aito. Sei perched on the edge of one roof above the alley, like a gargoyle, silent and motionless. When the four men were nigh beneath him, he leapt off the roof and descended upon them. First his feet landed with a solid impact upon the shoulder blades on one man, which flattened him to the ground and smacked his nose into the ground hard enough to knock him out. Second, Sei lunged and wrapped her arms around a second man's neck in a sleeper hold. The man struggled, but the better trained Sei held firm. He released the man when he stopped moving. Third, he flipped forward and roundhouse kicked a third man into the fourth man, their heads knocking against each other as the collided into the side of the alley. Sei paused a breath to be sure that Aito's pursuers were indeed unconscious before he ran to catch up with his comrade.

Sei caught up with Aito. As they continued running through the maze of the city, "Let's get back under cover and get this scar guy tied up." He did not like being out in the open like this.

Hitomaro leaned his momentum forward as he pushed an arm out onto the debris barricade in front of him, from that point he let his legs kick off and used his now planted arm to seamlessly swing his body over in a fluid motion that only cost him a bit of forward momentum. He could have jumped it, hell he could have jumped to the roof and escaped even quicker, but that wasn’t the point of this exercise. He wanted the chasing mob to keep up with him, to think they had a chance of catching him, hell he wanted to feel the bloodlust because they were so close to him. So far it had worked just as he’d hoped, the majority of the mob that had been in the city center was content with following him. He hoped that that meant his two Genin teammates had accomplished the task he set them to. If anything went wrong his Salamander would let him know, sticking just close enough to observe them and interfere if it had to.

The blonde haired Shinobi ducked into an alley to the left, just a little more and he could lose them and circle around. He burst out the other side, the mob was thinning now as they formed into a mass all trying to squeeze through the alley at the same time. He wasn’t going to give them the time. He stepped forward, pushed off the ground towards a nearby building with his left leg, he planted his right, kicked off the side towards the adjacent building,  he repeated it one more time, making it to the roof.

He scanned the scene, his salamander would be marking his Genin’s location by standing on the roof closest to them. The noise of the mob finally breaking through the alley started to get louder, they knew he was on the roof but following him would be much more difficult now.

Still no sign of the salamander. He took a quick step forward launching him into a bit of a sprint before he threw his momentum from the roof towards the nearby one. It was usually an easy jump, five or ten feet between the wooden rooftops, but that wasn’t the case this time. Halfway across the gap something gripped his left leg, dragging him out of the air and to the hard ground. The collision forced the air out of his body, no time to regain composure though, he looked towards his feet, a man in a black flak jacket similar to his own was rapidly approaching with blade in hand. Hitomaro’s foot was caught in a rope, a heck of a lassoing by his attacker.

There was no longer time to worry about getting to the Genin, they would be on their own for a minute, right now he needed to save his own life.

Alright, 4 C-Rank Enemy Shinobi have entered the battlefield. 2 of them are approaching your location. If they find you they are going to be pretty stiff competition, 1 of them is attacking me, the last one is unaccounted for right now. You need to avoid the attack while keeping the asset in hand so that we can question him once we clear the immediate threat. Feel free to take control of the NPC's as you see fit.

Katsu looked back from the alleyway as Sei went to town on the men that had been chasing him. They were all dealt with, good. That would make it easier to get this man somewhere safe to question him. As Sei caught up and mentioned the two needed to get back under cover, Katsu nodded in agreement and began searching the alleyways. He jogged with the man still knocked out and over his shoulder. He manged to reach a small, wooden building. It seemed abandoned to Katsu. He listened closely and it was clear no one was inside, so he removed the man from his shoulder and placed him on the ground, sitting up against the wall of the building.

Katsu opened the door to the building and walked in slowly, his hand still gripped around a kunai. As he entered, he began to hear the squeak of each of his footsteps. This made him antsy and a little jumpy, but as he walked in, he noticed it was a home. Definitely abandoned, though. He went back outside to grab the man and bring him into the home. He waited as Sei entered and motioned to him to grab a chair. Katsu placed the man down in the chair and left him to Sei to tie him up. “Good going back there. Really saved my ass,” Katsu said to him, turning around to watch Sei. He had a smile on his face, the nervousness that was eating away at him before hand disappeared. He began looking around the home.

It was tiny, and consisted only of the room they were in. The wood had been rotting, and the smell was awful. But hopefully that meant anyone would stay away. The salamander had wandered into the small home, staring up at the genin. Katsu nodded to the creature and spoke to it, “Let the captain know where we are. We're safe and retrieved the target.” The salamander stared back at Katsu for only a moment before sliding out of the room and into the alleyway. 'How convenient,' Katsu thought. Katsu slid his kunai along his hand, staring down at it. “Now we wait for him to find us,” he had said outloud to Sei. Suddenly, the creaking of wood echoed throughout the home, but neither of the two genin were moving enough to make such noises. Katsu looked up, towards the roof, listening closely. He stared up to it, barely making out the sound of two voices on the roof.

Katsu's eyes darting between the roof and Sei, not sure what to think of this. The two voices came from the roof, so Katsu assumed they were shinobi. “Is that him already?” Katsu was confused. It had only been a minute or two since he sent away the salamander. Unsure of what to think, he continued gripping his kunai in his dominant hand, peaking out of the door and into the alleyway. He could hear the two voices a little better on the roof.

The two shinobi were chatting away. “They should be somewhere around here, get to searching!” One of the two had yelled before both had removed themselves from the roof stop of the small, wooden building and moved on. Katsu was not sure who they were looking for, but he assumed it was his group. There had been a group of shinobi within the city that knew they would be coming, so it made sense they'd be looking for him. But he'd let them keep searching. Katsu turned away from the door when he heard the man suddenly begin to stir. He walked over to the chair the man sat in, placed his kunai in his face and waited.

As the man opened his eyes, Katsu spoke to him, “We'd like to have a talk.” He shoved the kunai in his throat, stabbing it slightly, but not enough to break or cut any skin. Just enough for the man to feel it. 'Got to get this done before the others come back,' he thought to himself. But the man seemed not to care for the kunai at his throat, because he let out a bellowing roar. He voice echoed throughout the small, wooden shack and out into the alleyways. Katsu moved his hand towards his mouth, covering it and cursing under his breath. The voice could be heard from a small distance away, but Katsu had hoped the sounds of battle would have masked it well. Katsu shook his head at the man, staring intently into his eyes. "You must have a death wish, old man. He just want to talk, not scream." Their captive tried to scream through Katsu's hand, when the sounds on the roof returned. Katsu stared up at the roof, assuming the two shinobi had heard the sound.

Within a few seconds, the footsteps of the whoever was on the roof stopped. Katsu let out another sigh until the roof exploded above them. It was loud, smoke had begun to fill the room as debris fell from the roof. The rotten wood collapsed over the group in the home. Katsu quickly moved his body back, hoping Sei would have done the same. He stared into the center of the room, as the sun had begun to shine through a large hole in the roof. Not much debris had fallen, though. It seemed the explosion had evaporated most of the rotten wood almost completely. Katsu held tightly on his kunai, watching the roof for a moment. But it was quiet. His eyes darted around, watching and waiting. He moved his hands into signs: snake and dragon, repeated twice. The current of electricity surged from his body, out into the area around him. It would cover around 10 meters of area, and Haze would alert him of anyone within the area. A kunai fell from the hole in the roof, an exploding tag stuck to it. He watched as it fell, moving his arm almost instantaneously. His kunai would move from his hand and be thrown towards the tag, sticking into it and ramming it back into the roof, where it exploded once more. The electricity surged back to Katsu, alerting him of the presence of two men perched on the building next to theirs. He looked over to Sei as more dust and debris filled the room. "Looks like these guys are not friendly."

If Sei had less control over himself, he would have sworn a line of curses his mother would slap him for if she heard it, when the roof blew to bits over their heads. Instead he yanked their captive back to the side of the wall with himself and his partner. The man squirmed against him, and Sei pinched the man's nose and covered his mouth until his eyes rolled back and his body grew limp with unconsciousness. They couldn't get out of this mess if the man was creating a scene the whole time.

The thin boy hefted the grown man over his own shoulder, he was stronger than he appeared, a result of many years living in the woods as the man of his household. His hands then formed a hands sign, rat, and his chakra covered his equipment and the captive, to the best of his ability, to make them blend in with the shadows within the smoky, destroyed building. Judging by the sound of voices and footsteps, he assumed there were at least two shinobi above them- above them in power too if the condition of the ceiling meant anything.

His partner threw a kunai at the explosive tag and Sei took that moment to pull a pin and throw his own smoke bomb into the air above them. When electricity shocked his partner, the bomb exploded and a dark smoky cloud enshrouded them. It wasn't much, but it would make for decent temporary cover. He whispered to his white haired partner, "Come on. We need to go." Their mission was to meet up with their leader here and get information out of this guy, not cause a scene with other shinobi. He could only hope his hot headed partner would comply.

At that, he slipped out a side door, opposite of the one they entered through, and back out into a narrow alley. He kept his back as close to the wall as he could with an unconscious man over his shoulders. The fox around his shoulders still clung around his neck. He darted across the alley and into another, traveling as a shadow from shadow to shadow. He stopped when his foot thunked against something hollow. He stilled, his golden eyes gazing down towards his feet. Beneath his shoes was a cellar door, half hidden under bags of garbage that wreaked like week old rotten fish and beer.

It only took a moment for Sei to quell the disgust in his gut. He could get onto the owner of the trash about sanitary standards when all was said and done. Adjusting the weight of the man over his shoulder, Sei would bend down and pry open the revealed half of the cellar doors. He would plunge himself inside, depositing his human quarry unceremoniously upon the floor. Assuming his partner had followed him and neither of them had been intercepted in their escape, he would quietly ease the door shut above them. Darkness squashing all light except meager faint streaks through the hinges of the door.

Jutsu Used:

In the Shadows

Chakra: 100 - 5 = 95 CP left

Equipment Used:

smoke bombs (5 - 1= 4 left)

I think I did this portion right.

Summary: Sei nabbed the captive before he got crushed by falling ceiling and knocked him out. He then hid himself in the shadows under the screen of a smoke bomb and ran out a side door and through the alleys with the captive. He ended up finding a cellar to hold out in.

((OOC: I am going to run a bit of the NPC’s here, just to keep it lively, feel free to take control of them in your posts.))

The genin were left on their own, hopefully to be easy prey. The two following them had thought the explosive through the roof might eliminate not only their new adversaries but also tie up a loose end, had it landed that may have been just what it would have done. Instead the two missing-nin were forced to react to the blast overtaking the roof and throwing them hard to the ground, covering them in rubble. They wasted little time in springing to their feet, they needed to locate the Lightning Shinobi and keep the man in the scarf from talking. Worse yet, if he was conscious then he now knew they were willing to kill him to keep him quiet, hopefully he bit his tongue out of fear, after all, if he didn’t the boss would melt him.

So the C-Ranks are dealing with the explosion that Katsu left them to deal with, feel free to take control again.

Hitomaro waited for the man who’d lassoed him to move forward, he took a position on his back with his legs bent at the knees. This was to allow him to kick at his opponent if they neared or spring to his back if they didn’t, this particular attacker chose to charge in. It was a mistake for his attacker believe they’d shut down the blond. He struck out hard with his left leg, catching the charging man in the right thigh. While reacting to that the attacker left himself open and in a bit of a forward fall, letting Hitomaro drive his other knee up and into a hard, crunching jaw strike.

It became very apparent at that moment that while they were being attacked, it wasn’t targeted at them. Whoever wasn’t aware of Hitomaro’s ability, that meant they probably wouldn’t be too aware of the others. The blond loosened the rope and tossed it to the side as he got up, now he really needed to find the genin. He leaped to a nearby roof and scanned the area, to his right there was a cloud of dust dissipating and a small red salamander stalking the rooftops intently.

It was at that moment he felt a sharp blade scrape across his right shoulder. He reacted quickly spinning down the side of the building and then using it for cover in the direction the weapon had come from. There were more attackers. He was still so focused on keeping the kids out of danger that he wasn’t focused, if he continued like that he’d end up getting them all killed.

If the Kage didn’t believe in them he’d have never let them come, Hitomaro had to respect that. They’d be on their own for a while longer, hopefully the could handle it.

So I knocked out one of the 4, you are still dealing with the same 2 but they were disoriented by the Katsu/Sei counter attack. They don’t know how strong you are nor do they have any intel on you. When you get a chance interrogate the prisoner, if you can think of a way to get him to talk he will tell you that he’s not working for either gang in the Raijin Bay, he’s working for some gangster operating out of Noumu Harbor in the Water Country to clear the way for an expansion into Lightning Country. That intel, if you can think of a way to get it, is SUPER important. I am keeping Hito away for a bit longer to let you two do most of the heavy lifting. The last C-Rank is currently hunting me so don’t stress it too much.

Katsu decided to listen to his partner, and followed him closely as he ran out of the side door and into the alleyway. He'd keep concentrating on his lightning chakra flowing out of his body, keeping Haze up to see if the two would have followed them. As the two ran down the alleys, Katsu kept his glances behind him, watching the rooftops closely. The stench hit him when his Sei stopped to open the cellar door and he flinched his nose back a bit, unsure of whether or not he'd want to follow him into the cellar based on the outside. Whatever, it had to be done. He walked down into the cellar behind Sei, pulling one of the garbage bags over the door as Sei closed it, hoping it would possibly hide the fact that they went in. Katsu moved down the stairs and into the dark room. 'Might wanna leave it dark.' He continued to use Haze, but it showed no one in their immediate vicinity, so he let his guard down for a moment. He felt his way through the room, he found a small table set up with a few chairs. Katsu sat his body down in one of the chairs and let out a sigh of relief.

"Hopefully, we lost them," he said with a smirk on his face.  He'd raise his hand towards the other chairs at the table. "Set him down and let's see what he knows, shall we?" He waited as Sei would move further into the cellar and place the man down into one of the chairs. Katsu noticed the man was unconscious so he stood his body up and placed his right hand on the man's right cheek, slapping it a few times gently to see if he'd wake up. Success! The man jerked awake, and began panicking immediately, attempting to move away from his captors and further into the darkness. But Katsu wasn't letting him go anywhere. He grabbed hold of the man's knees and made sure his feet stayed planted into the ground and his ass in the chair. Katsu let out another sigh. "Please don't scream and please stop freaking out. You'll lead those other shinobi right to us. And neither of us want that, eh?" A small smile moved across Katsu's face, but it was mostly hidden by the darkness of the room. "We're not here to hurt you, we are just requesting assistance, that's all!"

The man calmed down a bit once Katsu spoke. Katsu was a charming individual for the most part. His charismatic chatter, tone, and overall demeanor made it a little easier to win someone over. "I-I can't tell you anything useful, man!" The scarfed man spoke quickly, stuttering between every other word. You could tell he was frightened. He scared pretty easily for a high ranking gangster, especially considering he was in the middle of a riot earlier. "We both know that isn't true. Those people that blew in the roof earlier were after you. Weren't some of your gang members, that's for sure. If you help us out, though, we can help you out. Tell us what we need to know and we'll get you out of here safely." Katsu smiled down to the man and reached into his jacket pocket to grab at his kunai before realizing he had thrown it earlier. He let out a sigh as he waited for the man's response.

The man hesitated before speaking, "I was j-just trying t-to stir the people up a b-bit! I don't kno-". Katsu interrupted the man's speech with a hard slap to the face. He didn't want to hurt the man or bruise him up too badly. So hopefully a slap would persuade him. He was caught a bit off guard, probably not expecting any backlash. "Look, bud, stop lying. It's obvious those other guys were after you. They collapsed the roof on top of us, and I'm pretty sure you'd be dead right now if it wasn't for our pal here," Katsu continued by raising his hand and motioning towards Sai. "So if you won't tell me, maybe our pal here could convince you.." Katsu would stand his body back up and walk away to sit down in a chair. "He's all yours!" He was hoping Sai would be able to get the man to talk.

Haze: -10 (from previous post)

-1 Kunai

Basically, Katsu followed Sei into the cellar and began trying to interrogate the man. Katsu is far too nice, so he's not a huge fan of interrogation. Failed to get anything really useful out of the man. So he's handing it off to Sai to see what he can do here.

Sei pulled a misshapen piece of wood from his pocket and a kunai from his leg holster. He began to slowly circle around their captive with his lazy gait, as his right hand carved into the wood in his left. The cellar's concrete floors echoed with his steps. In his monotonous voice he spoke, "The people out there are out to kill you." At the end of his sentence, he carved another piece off of the wood in his hand. He continued this pattern as he spoke.

Circle. "The Shakkuheddo are out to kill you." Scrape.

Circle. "The Marineros de Sangre are out to kill you." Scrape.

Circle. "The people you are working for are willing to kill you." Scrape.

Sei stopped to stand directly behind their captive. For a while the only sound within the cellar was the sound of her calloused fingers using the kunai to scrape layers off of the wood in his hand.

Scrape.

Scrape.

Scrape.

The man began to visibly twitch, fidgeting as if growing paranoid. Sei's golden eyes watched on with fascination as he continued to carve. He then took back to circling around the man again.

Circle. "We hare here to stop the Shakkuheddo." Scrape.

Circle. "We are here to stop the Mariners de Sangre." Scrape.

Circle. "We are here to stop the them from killing you." Scrape.

Sei stopped to stand directly in front of the captive. For a while the only sound within the cellar was once again the sound of his carving. The captive's eyes fixated onto the piece of wood as it took shape. The man's eyes remained riveted to Sei's kunai as it scraped away layer after layer after layer of wood.

Scrape.

Scrape.

Scrape.

The man's breathing escalated, his chest heaving. Sei lowered himself down into a squat before the man, bringing his golden eyes to the same level has the man's. Their eyes searched Sei's unblinking gaze. His soft voice spoke up as he set the carved wooden snake between the man's legs with a heavy thunk, "Tell me who to save you from." The man's breathing was loud at this point. Sei stood up and began circling him again, this time scraping his kunai against the man's chair as he passed behind him.

Circle. Scrape.

Circle. Scrape.

Circle. Scrape.

Then the man burst out with, "Noumu Harbor!" He shook, shuddered as if surprised by how own outburst, and shook again as Sei continued to circle him.

Circle. Scrape.

Circle. Scrape.

Circle. Scrape.

The man shook his head as if attempting to close his ears without the use of his hands. He grit his teeth and closed his eyes as if trying to shut out the sound.

Scrape.

Scrape.

Scrape.

The man lunged to get out of his chair, but ropes tied him to it. He could not go anywhere. Sei didn't stop however, he continued on, patiently waiting for what they wanted.

Scrape.

Scrape.

Scrape.

Sei watched as tears streaked the man's face. Desperation for the scraping to stop visibly presented. Sei didn't stop.

Scrape.

Scrape.

Scrape.

"Stop! Please stop! I work for a gang leader in Noumu! He wants to expand his reach to lightning, so he sent me here. For the love of all that is, stop, please! Stop the scraping!" Sei did. The sound coming to a sudden silence. He turned to lookout at his partner, "Got that? Good." He then turned back and punch the captive in the nose, knocking him out once more.

Hitomaro sped from the edge of one building to another, all the while keeping solid objects between he and the location the Kunai came from. Had this attacker taken advantage of Hitomaro’s lapse in awareness earlier, like when his buddy caught him, perhaps this mission would have already been over, but now whoever was hunting the blond was about to get a very rude awakening. Hitomaro pulled a Kunai of his own, did a quick run of handseals, then ran backwards. The rogue Shinobi hunting him had closed the gap and was now chasing. It would have been better to throw more weapons, the difference in speed was apparent.

Hitomaro slid under a food stand, tossed the kunai he’d charged with his flame chakra, then kicked the table over and held his breath before locking in one final handseal. At that moment the weapon exploded into a dome of fire, burning everything in it to a crisp. Hitomaro’s makeshift shield protected him from the blast, but the person chasing him wasn’t so lucky. Burning cotton and human flesh wasn’t a pleasant mix, Hitomaro made a note not to come back to this area with the Genin.

The blond moved quickly back to the rooftops, locating the damaged one and then following the red skinned salamander from there to an alley that led to a cellar. Wasn’t the best choice, for one if they’d been seen there probably wasn’t many ways out, and second it was august, that place had to have been cooking.

Hitomaro knocked on the door to the cellar three times, it wasn’t something he’d had the chance to work out but he hoped they’d get it, then he swung it open.

“Don’t attack, it’s just me. Fill me in on what you’ve been up to.” he said as he entered.

So this is a short one, I just wanted to get us moving forward, tell me what you’ve got, who you’ve encountered, important info. After that I will take us to a contact then we will do a quick wrap up fight to seal the deal.

Katsu watched as Sei approached the man and began doing his thing. The scraping and the circling.. it was all enough for even Katsu to become slightly uncomfortable. He watched Sei, impressed of his tactics to get the man to speak. And it didn't take too long for the man to let out everything he knew. If he were in that chair, he'd probably squeal, too. Watching Sei scrape the piece of wood and then later the chair made him more comfortable as he thought about it more and more. Katsu hoped he'd never end up in this sort of situation, but he knew it would more than likely happen eventually. He'd have to toughen up his mind a lot more to be able to avoid these situations. Hopefully he can get some sort of training to help him out.

The man burst out with the information they had some for, so mission success so far. Now they'd just need to find the jounin and give him the information so they could complete the rest of the mission. And as if the jounin had heard his thoughts, a knock on the cellar door rang loudly through the small, dark room. Katsu prepared himself, grabbing hold of the katana from his back sheath and held it in front of him. Attempting not to make a sound, he'd be prepared to take anyone out. He was thinking about whether or not it'd be the two ninja from earlier. He'd hope not.

The door opened and a voice echoed through the room. As he kept himself in position to attack, he waited for the man to come downstairs, before recognizing who it was. He'd put the katana back in his sheath and stretch his body out, prepared to speak of what has happened so far.

“This guy here,” he said, pointing to the man in the chair, “is the one you had us capture. He's told us that he does not work for a gang that is already operating in the port, but for a gang out of Noumu that is looking to expand his operation.” His hands reached up to his head, to let them rest there while he continued. “We also ran into a tad bit of trouble with some shinobi. It seemed like they were after this man here.”

Silence filled the room after he spoke. After a few moments, he spoke out, “Now what?”

After hearing what the silver haired young man had to say Hitomaro had a decision to make, and it was an easy one. "We need to clear out." Hitomaro said clearly and loudly. The mission wasn't entirely completed but the job had changed so much so now that it was no longer something they could continue.

The blond Shinobi rubbed the back of his head, he'd hit it pretty good when they caught him before, he ignored it. "Alright so this is what we are going to do. Both of you head out together, get clear and then don't stop till you reach the village." Hitomaro was using hand motion as he talked, he wasn't sure why but there was a lot of pointing and waving involved. "Report to the Kage, I will hang out in the Port and await further orders. You did great, now get out of here." He said it and then he waved them off. They needed to hurry out of town.

[So close it out with an exit post. @Katsu if @Sei doesn't post in 48 hours just do your exit and turn the mission in for the exp.]

Sei nodded to their leader and began to make his way out of the cellar. When he arrived outside, the violence of the port had sounded to relatively have died down. Perfect. He would lead the way for him and Katsu to get out of the village. Of course, he got back upon the roofs to travel. As he leaped from roof to roof, expecting Katsu to be right behind, his foot landed wrong on a corner of a roof. His foot slipped from beneath him and in an instant he was two stories lower.

If Katsu happened to stop and look down, he'd find his fellow white haired genin impaled upon a broken pipe. The sharp angled tip protruded from just above the nape of his neck. Blood gurgled up it's cylinder and out over the hollow metal as Sei's mouth gaped and he struggled to gasp a shocked breath into pieced lungs. It didn't take very long for the golden gleam of his eyes to glaze into a dull amber, and yet for him it would feel like an eternity for the old friend to ice through his veins.

Somewhere in the capital of the lighting country, a small blue haired mother collapsed, clutching her chest with a pained cry.

Katsu nodded his head to Hitomaro before following Sei out of the damp, wet cellar. They'd make their way onto the roof tops of the rickety, wooden buildings that were barely even standing.  He was glad to be out of that cellar. The stench had been terrible, almost enough to burn the hairs from his nostrils. He shook his head, attempting to rid his nostrils of that damn smell. He wasn't paying too much attention to his surroundings, except for the boy that was leading their way out of the small town and back to the village. He watched as the boy slipped and fell from the roof top. Katsu reached the roof Sei missed and stopped his body completely, letting his feet slide a bit on the dusty, wooden roof. He assumed the boy would be okay from a fall like that. It wasn't much of a fall for a shinobi. He stepped to the edge of the building, a grin on his face, half expecting Sei to be sitting in a pile of garbage. He hadn't heard any noise, his ears were still attempting to discard the sound of scrapping Sei had emblazoned in his mind. Katsu reached the edge and peered down to the alleyway below. What he saw was not what he had expected at all.

Blood. It had been everywhere. On everything. Katsu jumped down into the alley, in an attempt to help and return the boy quickly to the village. He stared into the boy's eyes as life left his body. Covered in blood, Katsu stared down at the gruesome image. He hadn't experienced death before. For the first time, he had seen a dead body. But it wasn't just any dead body, it was one of his teammates. His body rested on a building. His eyes were glued to Sei's body. Nothing around him mattered at this point in time. The sounds of steel clashing, explosions, the smell of burning wood and flesh were all around him, but he no longer noticed any of it. He stood for a few minutes, staring. He looked down to his hands, which were now covered in blood, just like most of his attire at this point. He had tried to wrap his hands around the boy's neck in an attempt to stop the bleeding. But it didn't matter what he did. The pipe protruded from the boy's neck. Katsu wasn't sure what to do. He stood his body up straight, resting still along the wall. He didn't want to leave the boy's body there, but there was no chance he could make it out of this town and back to his village with a dead boy on his back. Hell, he wouldn't have been able to stomach it.

So he left him. Katsu turned back to the building and ran up the wall, grabbing hold of the roof. As he reached the top and pulled his body up, a few tears ran down his face. He wiped the wet blood on his cloak and jacket before he broke off into a sprint. He looked around before running off completely, marking the location. He'd come back for the body or get the local shinobi to retrieve it. He shook his head and attempted to wipe the tears from his eyes. They continued to trickle down his cheeks as he ran out of the village, the same way the two had entered. Unfortunately, only one remained.
