Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time

The blue glow of twilight seeped in through the windows of the ship, casting a soft light within the space as she dressed herself. Her mind lingered on the events of the previous day. How she'd unwittingly almost gotten herself killed in a potato box full of people. The fact there was this dangerous man in charge of a dangerous ...militia, whom were out to kill shinobi. Mayhap if she had a village to call home, she might feel safer, but as fate were to have it, she lived on her own with no memory of where she came from. Nothing but a broken sword remained from her forgotten life, and that she kept hidden away beneath the innards of the ship. Four years had passed, and by now she was strongly suspicious the secrets of her identity would never return to her. As far as it mattered anymore, her name was Reimei and she was born from the sea at twilight, her namesake. Her thoughts grew unspeakable, dark inside her heart, as she went about wrapping her chest flat and putting her shirts on. The masked men inside, had any of them survived, had likely noticed a red haired woman bring the building down. It was now more pertinent than ever for her to not forgo her disguise.

Reimei rose from the depths of her small sailing ship docked by the beach. She had spent a preposterously long amount of time deciding on her clothes that morning. It was now nightfall. After that one fiasco with the masked men, she'd realized that she'd entirely blown her disguise. Not only had she been caught seen as a girl with purple eyes, she'd shown even more of her skin to the slums of the capitol. Everyone and their brothers had seen a redheaded woman in booty shorts and her bra. Not that she was usually shy about such, but it's not like she wanted to be seen either. In fact, when it was all said and done, she'd returned to her ship to be rightly mortified at herself. She slapped her cheeks and looked into the mirror to be sure her green eye contacts were in place. They were, the left contact made the thin scar through her eye appear slightly pinker against her snowy skin. She then stepped back to check that her chest was wrapped well enough to flatten her curvy figure. It hurt and made it a little hard to breathe, but it did its job. She wore a pair of jeans that fit close to her legs, and a loose black tank underneath a brown leather coat. A thick black scarf wrapped around her neck and helped to conceal from her mouth down. Reimei turned away and pulled on ankle high black combat boots, then rose back up and twisted and tied her hair back into a pony tail that made her hair appear to be short. She checked the mirror once more, and felt like she was satisfied it'd be hard for anyone from the day before to recognize her without having somehow remembered the shape of her body on a very up close level. A thought that drifted her mind towards a certain golden moose she had encountered...She shook some sense into herself and put her checkered hat onto her head before leaping off the side of her ship and onto the beach. When her feet hit the rocky surface, she paused a moment to stare at the city before she began making her way towards it again. She needed to gather some things before she left back to find Aorie and Osaka.

The crimson haired woman, disguised as a boy, walked down the streets of the city. She had no idea where she was walking to, but hoped she'd find it eventually. Most people ignored her, perk to looking like a boy, except for the occasional glances she received due to her height. She was a rather short boy, could even perceived as a young one for the way she looked. Being by herself, she only managed to stand out a smudge further. She walked until she spotted a large gathering of people in an even larger grassy area. Laughter and talking drifted across a breeze towards her ears. She got closer and found herself sucked into the mass of bodies like a black hole of human, and it didn't spit her back out until she was on the inside of a wide circle of grass. Here there were a large amount of stalls and stands set up with games and food. People mingled about in animal masks and occasionally one person would pass her in a kimono and geta. She was taken aback by this turn of events, suddenly surrounded by people. A woman without a real place to call home, she wasn't used to this many people being in her vicinity at once. It didn't help that she was naturally directionally challenged from the start, and now she wasn't quite sure where she'd been spit out at. Instead of freaking out though, she moved on and acquired food from a stall. A vendor pleasantly sold her four sticks of yakitori, and she drifted through the park carnival without paying any attention to where she was going. Instead, her attention was riveted upon the meat in her hands.

Spoiler

@Rei @Duke @Jin So there's a carnival in the park. Reimei is directionally challenged and disguised as a boy. Jsyk.

He had stumbled, quite late, into one of the many parks the village had, something which always perplexed him considering how cold the village was and how much people loved to complain about it. He, naturally, loved the chilled weather and sported a lilac button up which he had left unbuttoned well down his chest and a normal pair of black slacks. Dressy, but in the kind of casual, aloof, and mostly clueless way he always appeared. A carnival whirled around him, the murmur of talking crushing him in an almost suffocating wave of noise and laughter and crying and games. He stopped by a stand and grabbed a massive, heaping stick of multi-colored cotton candy, perhaps a touch out of character for he typically did not seek out overly sugary or sweet foods.

Across the way, near the monotonously brown and beige tents and beneath a crisscrossing of orange demon lanterns which hung, as if floating, above the whole affair performed a live band. The pale red light cast the whole event in an almost hellish glow where, if one looked down the makeshift alleys created by the small gaps between tents and gazed at the elongated, twisted shadows stretched tortuously by the coals which hung in the night sky, one could imagine he had fallen into some kind of nightmare. However, the joyous sounds of the carnival dispelled these thoughts from Chao's mind as schools of brightly colored fishes added neon lighting to the whole effect of the place.

He paused, standing in the middle of a crowd which ebbed just in front of the makeshift stage, not entirely sure what to do. He' never been to a carnival, at least not one which did not involve some form of gladitorial arena combat in which he had taken part. He wondered if he would see anyone he knew, perhaps Taka or that girl who kicked him the other day. Maybe even that one red haired woman who destroyed the building that stupid revolution had taken place in. He reflected on that, regretting having not brought any weapons, only to realize that he hadn't brought any here either. Shrugging, he took another large bite of the candy and looking on to a man with jet-black, oil-slicked hair croon into an old-school metal microphone about white wine.

Kazuo had just finished up a mission when he came across the carnival. He didn't know that the Water Village had an event like this today. Was there a special occasion going on? He couldn't recall, but it did matter. The people were having fun and celebrating the greatness of the Water Village. That was enough to bring a smile to Kazuo's face.

It was a little out of his element, but he decided to join in with the festivities. He quickly discovered the game stalls giving him dirty looked. Apparently they didn't like shinobi hanging around these parts. It made sense. The games where childishly easy for shinobi like them. They could knock down any bottles, land any rings, or handle whatever game they had. And it wasn't against any rules for shinobi to play, or the people at the stalls technically couldn't force them to leave. But it still seemed like bad taste to prey on their games. Besides, what would Kazuo need a stuffed animal for?

He turned around, seeing what else the carnival had to offer, when he bumped into a mysterious figure.

The stage had been set with twilights embrace, her seductive influence cast the Village of Water in a void of unending darkness. While gloom plagued the streets of Mizumura, a vibrant light broke the barriers between night and day, its source a Festival located within the Village's Public Park.

A woman seductive in nature traversed the rows of stalls that situated themselves in the majestic expanse, their owners keen to earn coin with the happiness they brought their patrons. The stalls that lingered the festival were assorted both in appearance and in nature, each endeavoring a variety of interests depending on the individual who sought their wares. The woman, Tenri Terumi prowled the carnival without much thought, she had only agreed to the revelries in order to reward the working girls she held in her care, the part they had played the night of the chaoticness that was The Rally in the back of her mind. Shadowed by her man-servant the seductive woman would enter the fray of joy, her gait slow and relaxed ''Kensho how many times must I apologize for going off on my own? It was Important I trailed the red-haired woman. You of all people should understand my reasons'' she'd say mockingly to the man who crowded her. ''Believe me, My Lady, I'm fully aware of why you abandoned the girls and I but must you have done it so rashly? I worry for your safety enough as it is, your total disregard for your own well-being unsettles me..'' the man would reply, his bottom lip dropped in an unhappy manner. Tenri's gaze would fall upon the man, snaking over the black and red suit he adorned that matched her own till finally landing gracefully upon his face, his thick glasses fogged by his breath. ''Enough with the sulking Kensho... Nothing drastic happened and all of us here, unharmed. Must you make everything such a big deal? Enjoy the festivities while you have the chance to... and YES, that is an order'' she'd say sending him on his way with a flick of her hand. Unfortunately, Tenri knew Kensho well and most likely he'd join ranks with her working-girls in order to look after them. Paternal as always... the woman would sigh to herself.

While she hadn't necessarily planned to enjoy the festivities herself, Tenri saw the opportunity to drink away her grievances, her annoyance at losing the woman who's hair appeared flaked in burning embers heavy on her mind and clearly displayed on her face for all to see. Seated elegantly at a beverage stall the blonde seductress downed a glass of wine as she contemplated her next course of action. She was in no mood to socialize with Kensho and his incessant over-protective nature. He held a place close to her heart but even so, his constant nagging drove her up a wall. From her position, the blonde dame would notice Kazuo from the corner of her eye, his dark-hair and tall figure coincidentally running into another. ''Oh....'' the blonde beast would say through gritted teeth.

One moment she was savoring the meat between her lips, the next moment a hard bump shoved the stick of meat further down her throat to where the little wooden stick stabbed her in the tonsils and a surprised, feminine squawk escaped her. The domino of pain didn't end there. A chunk of the meat came off the stick and slid down her throat, the wrong way. Next thing she knew she'd dropped her edible prize to the ground and bent over as she punched herself in the diaphragm until she coughed up the meat she'd choked on.

Once she'd stopped choking and bedridden herself of all gracefulness, she straightened herself to meet the gaze of a young man just about the same height as she, perhaps a bit taller. There was a split second of even more awkwardness as she decided how to react in this kind of situation. She rubbed her throat as her eyes darted around in hopes no one else had seen her embarrassing moment. She was pretty out there, but the woman did still have her own sense of dignity. The last thing she wanted was the misfortune of a coincidental moose to be around and see that.

Her attention then did fully turn towards who bumped into her. The young man had clear eyes and impassive features. A few more years on him and he'd be very nice to look at. He appeared to be about the same age as she presented herself in this boyish disguise. One of her hands reached to lower the checkered hat over her eyes even further, a subconscious act gained after years of wearing the hat. Her cinnamon and ash laced voice grated like limestone against slate from the soreness of her throat as she made an attempt to shatter ice, "Ah. If you wanted to meet, you only had to say hello." Her lips would twitch into a small slanted smile as her hand moved to rub the back of her neck. Encountering people as a boy always made her feel skittish.

"Um... no. That isn't what I wanted. I just accidentally-". It occurred to Kazuo that it would be better to take the remark in stride rather than point out the semantics of an obvious joke.

He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, casting his eyes downward. "I'm sorry. What I meant to say is that you're right." He stopped rubbing his neck and looked up, offering his right hand for a handshake. He felt awkward about this. He wasn't used to dealing with social situations like this. He forced a smile, trying to look as friendly as he could. "My name is Kazuo. And you are?"

Truth be told, he didn't actually care for the stranger's name. He just wanted to get this over with and forget that it ever happened in the first place. From what he could tell, this stranger was a civilian, one who was overdressed for the summer weather, but it was a minor detail. They might have low tolerance for the cold. They did appear to be the same age as Kazuo, and surprisingly, a little shorter than him. That was a pleasant change. There were a lot of people, civilians and shinobis, who were taller than him. Kazuo insisted that he still had one growth spur left in him and soon he would be as tall as his peers, but it still felt a little relieving to see another boy around his height. Had this stranger been a fellow shinobi then they might have something to bond over.

A single droplet of rain, or perhaps the fleck of another's spittle, graced the huge man's sharply sculpted cheek and, in that moment, he cast his crystalline eyes to the clouded, darkly lit heavens. A wave of intense sadness swept over him, though he could not fully say why, and a deep, bellowing keen sounded within his mind like some terrible whale in the final moments of agony, just after the harpoon had ripped through its skull. His vision wavered and blackened as the oil and blood seeped up from the ground, covering his eyes in a wave of fatty-yellows and reds.

He walked still, even as his vision vanished, passing stalls and people, avoiding collision by naught but his imposing figure and highly attuned reflexes. A hand, the one not holding the spun sugar candy, darted out and grabbed a large, glass orb filled with a red-black liquid and took a deep drink of the full-bodied acid. His head rolled down once more and vision began to return, people moving out of the way of his smooth, lumbering gait. Most people had no idea who he was, just another of the village's seemingly endless pile of well-trimmed muscle, but they fled from him in any capacity, perhaps sensing, in some small part of their animal brains, that his normal mood of goofy candor had slid temporarily away.

The mood passed, though he felt cracked and parched like the windswept tundra, surrounded by water but barred from drinking it. His eyes focused then, for the first time since his moment, upon two figures who appeared to have either recently met and/or run into one another. He cocked his head, quite notably, and stared for a time, his dark hair having grown a big shaggy since last he got it cut and causing it to obscure his left eye for a brief moment. He would notice, far too belatedly, that he was well within the personal space of the pair, standing no more than two or so feet from them.

"Hey."

It was not quite enough to say something so simple and boring, but his voice carried beneath the din of the crowds and the crooning about bachelor's and their deaths, a rumbling of the very crust of the earth.

The world appeared as if Father time's touch plagued the woman's vision, the events unfolding before her slowed to her whims. Tenri was not the jealous type. No, she just had a the pride of a lion and was territorial with people she both knew and cared for. Kazuo was such a man, she had briefly bonded with him during a prior mission and there was no way in hell she was going to let some bimbo dressed like a man-child come into her vicinity and seduce him with her poor excuse of an appearance. While her feelings for the man weren't deep, she still saw him as a friend, a term she rarely used for people unless they earned it. The blonde dame studied closely as her fingernails clicked upon the table she sat at. Something seemed off about this redheaded person yet Tenri could not quite place her finger upon it.

Without a second thought the blonde Dame left her drink and made her way toward Kazuo and the... stranger. If she was going to determine anything, she'd need a closer look and what better way to interrupt the festivities than to join the fray. Each step the woman took, the heels of her stiletto boots clicked at her feet, it's echo audible over the roar of life that encased the festive aisle of stalls. The sway of her hips moved in time with her steps, her gait both seductive and boastful in nature. In the time it had taken her to leave her post at the bar another male had engaged the the two, a man with both liquor and cotton candy in hand. Tenri wasn't aware of the nature of the man yet even so, she did not care, her target was the redheaded man who had unexpectedly gathered two men at his sides.

''Greetings Gentleman, a lovely evening for a nightly stroll is it not?'' the woman would say to the group before her. ''and you Kazuo, it is good to see you again, I hope you have fared well since we last spoke?'' she'd add, her tone a mix of sexual tension and sincerity. Tenri would barely allow a glance for the red head, her crimson gaze barely gracing him. Until from the corner of her eye she noticed what was off about this person. Her gaze landed gracefully upon the redheaded specimen, her eyes lingering upon his facial structure, then to the shape of his lips. A smirk would cross the woman's lips as her hands landed sensually upon her hips. Oh this red headed fiend was no man, he was in fact a she. No one could fool a woman who had spent her entire life beneath the graces of a Brothel owner, being able to determine a man or woman's worth in beauty for future coin was part of the duty, and this woman had the face of no man, her jawline was much too feminine, her cheeks too plush and her lips too plump. She had done a fine job hiding her breasts 'as if that had even been a challenge' the woman would think to herself. ''And who might you be... sir?'' the sarcasm that laced her voice evident.

Reimei had tried to be sociable, and it only proved not to be her strong suit. She'd tried to get a laugh out of the younger boy, but it hadn't exactly worked out. She guessed she needed to research more on how to talk like a teenage boy. The woman clasped a small hand with the boy's in a handshake, and was about to answer her name when a large figure blocked some of the light from her eyes. The false green of her gaze gleamed with undisguised, excited recognition. Before them stood the shiny moose she'd encountered prior. His hair was tousled and in his face, and his eyes seemed much darker with a heaviness to them that made her itch to be the one tousling that. Or just tousling him in general.

Even with her hand still in the middle of shaking the boy's, she took a subconscious step towards the tall man. A part of her hoped he recognized her, but surely he couldn't. He'd seen her as a woman, and here she was disguised very much like a boy. Her thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of yet another person, this one much more dominating than the two men. A tall blonde with a huge chest bounced into view. Reimei's eyebrow arched high as she heard the tone of the woman's voice when she spoke to the shorter boy next to her. She knew that tone. It was the sort of tone she herself had spoken in while in the proximity of golden shorts and bare muscle. She almost felt a bond with the taller, clearly younger girl. That is, until she turned her sharp eyes upon Reimei herself. The hostility in the woman's posture brought Reimei to stand straighter herself, and hold the eye contact with the blonde girl as she asked, "And who might you be...sir?"

Reimei's eyes drifted towards the woman's bosom, taking in the massive bulbs. She stood even straighter with pride. Sure, hers were bound at the moment, but she was well enough aware that her breasts were a decent size for a six fingered hand. Reimei's eyes would return to the other woman's, her unspoken challenge met. If blondie wanted to go, then they'd go. Her mouth slipped smoothly into a smile laden with charm as she responded, "My name is Reimei. And the two of you are?" Her green contacts added an extra glint to her eyes as lamplight shone in them and she indicated both the moose of a man and the over sized kitten of a woman.

Being surrounded by enemy ninjas was one thing. Kazuo knew how to handle those situations. But being surrounded by friendly shinobi and people, he was absolutely clueless. First Chaohuan showed up and now Tenri as well. If it wasn't already awkward enough that Kazuo bumped into this stranger, Tenri was acting strangely. She had some kind of issue with the stranger who Kazuo bumped into, but he couldn't figure out what it was.

For now, Kazuo decided that it would be best to take a step back, both figuratively and literally, and watch how the scene progressed.

The man and woman he had initially stepped to seemed not to feel his presence at all beyond, of course, a few cursory glances. He thus towered over the pair of them, far too close for a civilized person to feel comfortable, but in a unique position in which no one paid the intrusion much mind at all. A forth party, all blond hair and big breasts, appeared then with two men in her tow before aggressively accusing the red haired friend of his of being a sir. This drew a look of pure confusion upon his face which, unfortunately, could easily convince Reimei that he had not recognized her at all.

Which was silly, of course, because her facial structure had not changed.

Nor had the flitters of red-on-black cinder-fireflies that surrounded her.

Sans any notable awkwardness, for the man had no idea about most social graces, he took a massive bite of his brightly colored candy, withdrawing a large chunk and chewing it as the women squared off. The other boy, Kazuo as he recalled, took a physical step backward, though Chao naturally thought nothing social about this and instead assumed he was repositioning himself for some kind of ensuing fight. The six-fingered behemoth, armed with his candy and wine, felt no need to physically reorient himself as all parties remained easily within his range of vision and his reach.

Around a mouth full of pink-and-blue florescent sugar twine he spoke again, voice carrying as usual but clogged by the sweet blockage. "Uh.. Chao?" He intoned the name as a question, easily brushed off by his rather obvious slowness and, after speaking, washed the mouthful down with a long swig of wine and an audible gulp. He shot the red head a questioning look, confused why she would ask his name, though he could not fully recall if he had shared it with her or not. Still, she had to have recalled him. They killed a man together and then she took off all his clothing. That was not something one forgot lightly.

Thus he stood, stock still between the rising atmosphere of animosity to which he remained utterly oblivious.

         "WHAT GOOD IS BEAUTY

 CURRENT MISSION: *

Tenri watched the events that unfolded around her with keen interest, her crimson glazed eyes watched the scene with such precision that her focus seemed to catch the minor details. The first was Kazuo's complete and utter confusion of the situation that was indeed about to unfold, and his total disregard of greeting her had not gone unnoticed either. 'Poor Kazuo' the woman would think to herself, a sharp smirk spread across her face. The second was the interaction between the man Chao and the man-woman Reimei. It appeared they knew each other although the red-headed creature clearly feigned differently. The only question upon Tenri's mind was why?

True to her nature Tenri decided the scene before her would require some manipulation on her part. While she had no real animosity toward this ''Reimei'' person other than the fact she had so casually bumped into Kazuo, she simply did not trust the woman. Anyone who felt the need to hide had to be a threat, especially when the woman felt the need to hide her gender of all things. The fact the woman had met Tenri's challenge head on only furthered the blonde woman's interest to continue her ploy ''Oh Chao is it? It's a pleasure to meet you, my tall friend. They call me Tenri. Tenri Terumi...'' the woman's tone would be both lustful and confident. Tenri's hand would land upon Chao's arm, it's caress lacking any form of subtlety before finally, her arm would link with the man's as if she and Chao were close on a personal level. The smirk upon the blonde woman's face would widen as her gaze landed upon the redhead once more ''Reimei is it? Pray, tell me little one, where does such a name originate? I've never heard a man or Woman... with such a... unique name.'' her words were sharp as if they wielded a blade of their own, their intent to harm the pride of this Reimei woman or at the very least bait her.

Tenri's arms would remain wrapped around Chao's as a chuckle erupted from her thin parted lips, the woman's gaze upon Reimei's chest area.
''If I didn't know any better, I'd say that with your figure and... mannerisms you were no more than a tiny chested woman.'' her tone would be full of mock, the vibrations of laughter causing her breasts to bounce. ''Oh do forgive me for my outburst. Sometimes I forget my manners and say the first thing that pops into my head'' the woman would casually add as she'd begin inspecting her long nails. If her previous actions had not set Reimei off, this surely would have helped.

If she had earrings in, she would have taken them out and asked Chao to hold them. She hadn't intended to get into a fight this evening, really, it was just a supply run. It happened to have gone nicely with meeting another awkward boy, and even far far better with the handsome Chao's appearance. Then along came this barely legal blonde little hoe sack. She was beginning to think she was cursed by the corn haired species. She liked to think she was fairly patient with those of the straw tressed slattern species; She hadn't drowned that Hitomaru in the sea, and she hadn't poisoned the sake of that one prick in Noumu.

They call me Tenri. Tenri Terumi...'' So that was the oversized kitten's name. Reimei's eyes fixed upon where the child's arm wrapped around Chao's, and she still managed to hold back. There was no way the man would be so easily swayed by the girl's childish advances. The girl's skills of seduction were severely lacking. Of course the blonde went on and on, and Of course rational thought was not her forte. Reimei 's rage took over and she clenched her fist, and in one swift motion pulled her arm back and socked the haystack in the boob.

The girl had asked for a fight, and fight she would. She intended to teach this corn kitten a lesson.

Kazuo knew it was irrational. He knew that it wasn't deserved. But he really, really, really wanted to punch Chaohaun in square in the face.

Seeing the way Tenri wrapped her arm around Chaohaun's stirred something up inside Kazuo. Normally he had pretty good control over his emotions, making sure they didn't rule his actions. That control might have been the only reason he hadn't hit Chaohaun yet, but he felt like he was dangerously close to losing it.

He slowed down his breathing, as subtly as he could, trying to calm himself down. There was no good reason for him to feel this way. Chaohaun was a good person who never did any wrong by Kazuo. He just happened to be the one Tenri was flirting with.

Kazuo had managed to calm himself down. He hadn't realized how much he had tensed up his shoulders just a moment ago. But just as he managed to regain his cool-head, Reimei punched Tenri in the chest. Actually, to be more specific, Reimei punched Tenri's breast.

Kazuo pushed himself between the two, where he was facing Reimei and had his back towards Tenri. He held up his right hand, using the stop gesture. "I'm going to have to stop this now. Assaulting a Water Village shinobi is strictly forbidden. There are severe consequences to this."

While Kazuo was lecturing, he was oblivious to whatever Tenri and Chaohaun were doing. He had assumed that they wouldn't do anything, meaning that he was not prepared if either of them did anything back to Reimei.
