He traversed the winding path of the Kami Forest, passing people and animals alike. The animals themselves were harmless, if not sometimes pests; at least for the young Belmont. The people present appeared to be regular civilians, enjoying a nice early afternoon. Despite the time of day, under the canopy of leaves from the trees it appeared much later. The shade offered opportunity for most nocturnal animals to be out and about. Locals often called the forest the a "a place that never sleeps" ae a result.

As the young shinobi continued down the the path, wearing an all black jogging suit set and shinobi sandals, he chanced upon the lake that made the forest able to grow in the mountains. He adjusted as his mask as he looked at the dark blue, yet sparkling water. The few cracks of light seeping through the leaves above made it appear as if the stars had taken residence in the lake itself. "What a beauty you are," he thought to himself as looked upon the beauty before him.

Glancing down he noticed a few smooth pebbles and promptly picked them up. With smirk on his face, he began to attempt skipping rocks over the lake trying to reach the other side. In truth he was only killing time before he met up with a few friends from the guard patrol for drinks.

Katsu took a stroll through the center district of Yamagakure, his hands glued inside of his pant's pockets. He'd let out a sigh as his eyes darted around the area, inspecting the patrons of the village. He'd stop at a market stall on his way out of town, purchasing an apple for a few ryo. He'd take a bite out of and leave his free hand in his pocket. Walking out into Kami Forest, he'd let his eyes wander. His mind wandered, as well, going over the first mission he had ever taken inside this forest. He'd look back on his training and began introspection. He'd just returned from a dangerous mission in the Raijin Port. Katsu's mind had taken a bullet figuratively as he watched a comrade of his perish during the mission.

He was not too sure what to think. He had never witnessed death before, so he needed this little walk or getaway. He'd take a large bite of his apple as he walked down the winding path, his eyes still darting from patron to patron, examining them. It's peaceful and relaxing. He'd compare to the port he had just left, that was filled with violence and terror. So much so that a majority of the actual townspeople had departed and moved here. Everyone seemed so happy and content; It put a smile on his face. As he walked along the path, one man stuck out to him: one that seemed like a shinobi. He'd watch the man skipping rocks. A large smirk appeared over Katsu's face as he approached the man from behind.

"Think you'll ever hit the other side," he'd say loudly, his smirk still stretching over his face. He hadn't met this man before but the mask intrigued him and reminded Katsu of another shinobi he'd become acquainted with.

Like the gold rusted leaves on an autumn breeze, Rue drifted down the snaking path that leads through the Kami Forrest. In her emotional state, the tranquility of the woods gave her mind peace and set her soul at ease, her mind no longer plagued by her stay in Earth Territory. In truth, she had no reason to fret but after creating bonds with people, their faces, their voices, and their traits become burned into your mind and while she fought endlessly to try and forget, the memories she'd created with her comrades were eternally etched into her cerebral. Perhaps she just needed to be reminded that every failure was a lesson and that there would always be a silver-lining. She was thankful in one regard, even after everything she still lived and she had returned home safely and moderately unharmed.

After resting for a few days Rue had been granted leave from the hospital, her injuries were minimal yet at the Denkikage's request, she had been ordered to remain to rest in order to fully recover. During her stay, her mind wandered aimlessly to The Kami Forest and its beauty which is why when she was finally discharged, the forest was the first place she visited. Its beauty had always helped her to think and in times of trouble she often sought the beautiful sites the forest offered to grant any patient enough to receive its gifts.

Standing upon a large man-made wooden bridge that over looked the lake Rue watched intently as the vibrations of the water's surface danced beneath the reflection of the face looked back at her, her face. The effect caused the blonde girl to laugh as the waters vibrations to distort her appearance. In truth it made her feel like a child again, a welcoming feeling to say the least. A familiar voice would break Rue's concentration as her eyes darted toward the source. ''Oh it's Katsu, I wonder how he has been. Is that Kao he's with?'' the blonde woman would say questioningly to herself. Squinting her eyes to attempt a better view Rue would notice that mask upon the other man's face, while Katsu was undeniably Katsu, his white hair an uncommon trait that made him stick out. The other man lacked Kao's short height ''Well that's Katsu but that's definitely not Kao'' the woman would add.

Rue had not come to Kami Forest looking for social interaction yet here were two individuals, one whom she knew and the other she would like to get to know. She had come to the conclusion that anyone who wore a mask was bound to have some entertaining characteristics. With that decided Rue made her way over to the duo, her gait both slow and relaxed upon approach ''Greetings again Katsu, and you sir as well'' she'd say to both males followed by a formal bow.

He had skipped no more than three stones, each bouncing a bit better than the last. In what seemed like no time this little diversion was turning into a challenge and Bastian was growing more annoyed with each failed attempt. Though his frown was most certainly one of frustration, behind the ever jovial wooden mask he wore made him look amused. He had begun to scratch his wild dark reddish brown afro, after skipping the third rock, when the voice from behind caught him completely off guard. The response was more reflex than anything else, due to his recent run in with the Yard Gang enforcer. The man had been lucky enough to get the drop on Bastian and had even locked in a deep sleeper hold. The man was unlucky that Bastian had been the target, though the damage was nothing that a good few years of physical rehabilitation couldn't fix. The moment that this unknown individual shouted his statement, Bastian tossed one of the rocks just in front of the man's feet. The force alone being to penetrate the ground itself. It wasn't until after he tossed the rock, did the young Belmont realize his mistake.

"My apologies, comrade," he would immediately shout back. He scratched his head while grinning before continuing, "Still a bit wired from dealing with some fuckery. You could say I'm still at the ready," he stated jokingly picking up another few rocks. While he spoke, he sized of the individual in front of him. Being that Bastian was always working or out on missions, he'd hadn't had much time to hang around his younger peers. Given that his entire class, aside from himself and two others, were all killed on their very first team mission. He alone lived because of his name and the weight it carried, being the son of a renown wealthy martial artist. He was essentially the last of the 'Genius Generation', who were so smart yet died on the first leg of their journey. 6 years ago and it still plagued his mind whenever he was reminded of that nickname.  He hated that the nickname was even given to them in the first place, they were just kids that worked hard. Another story for another day, though. Since then he had become a bit picky about the company he kept, choosing to steer away from none beneficial people. However, for some reason he felt like hanging out. "Bastian Belmont. You can call me Belmont," he stated for the man to plainly here without the need for shouting; his expression rather nonchalant.

No sooner did he make his statement did a gentle voice speak out in greeting to the duo. Bastian gray eye's, hidden behind his mask, shifted toward the source and immediately was glad he wore a mask. "Call me, Bast," he said with a slight smirk, "And you who might you be, Lady Kunoichi?" There was just something about blondes, they just always captured the Belmont's attention. "This day just got more interesting," he thought to himself.

Katsu moved himself slightly closer to the man as he spoke to him and was suddenly caught off guard by his quick turn. He stared to the ground, turning his head to the side at the sight of the rock being pelted into the ground. He had flinched slightly, nearly dropping the apple he held in his hand. He let out a hearty laugh after the man introduced himself. "All good, bud. You can call me Katsu!" A large smile appeared on his face before he'd take a crisp bite of his juicy, red apple. He was trying to decide how to move forward with a conversation. While he felt he was great meeting new people, his introductions usually occurred during missions when his fellow peers, so this was new to him. He'd nod his head and begin to speak, "Belmont, eh? Nic-," but was cut off by a familiar-sounding voice. Katsu would turn on his heels, his eyes darting to the blonde-headed woman.

The large smile reappeared on his face. It was nice to see Rue again; he hadn't had the chance to speak with her since their last mission. He assumed they both had just been too busy. "Good evening, Rue." He'd nod his head and take another clean bite from his apple, nearly finishing it. "How have you been? It's been a little while." Really, he had missed the trio he took his first real mission with. It brought back some good memories, something he needed more of after the issues he ran into with his last mission. He shook his head, deciding not to think any more of it for now. "Been busy, miss?" His charismatic smile would return as he slid his free hand back down into his pocket, letting it rest there. His eyes shifted back to Belmont, interested in the man behind the mask. Katsu wondered if he'd be as big an odd ball as Kao had been. He doubted it, his quick reactions from earlier didn't seem like it. If it had been Kao, he probably would have fallen into the lake. Katsu chuckled at the thought before taking another bite from his apple, chewing it loudly as he stared towards the two shinobi.

After her precise greeting, Rue would smile to both members present, it had been some time since she had interacted with other Lightning Citizens what with spending her recent days traveling home from Earth Country and then landing herself within the Hospital. The interaction was welcomed and in truth, Rue appreciated simple moments such as these. She had always been a tad socially awkward, always too formal in the way she addressed people and while she had had interactions with Katsu in the past and felt comfortable enough to dismiss all formalities with the fair-haired boy, at the back of her mind still sat the ever-present nagging to remain conventional.

The young blondes attention would land first upon the masked individual who identified himself as Bast. The blonde's eyes would slowly make their way across the man's figure before swiftly falling upon his face. A look of surprise would plaster across the blondes face ''Apologies! I am Rue. Rue Mikoto. It is a pleasure to meet you Bast'' the girl would say, her tone both polite and educated. Once again the girl's words would be followed by a simple bow. Feeling both males gaze upon her Rue would pat down her simple blue dress uncomfortably before her hands landed on her sides ''So uh.. Bast. What brings you to The Kami Forest?'' the shyness to her tone would be evident as a small pink hue would flourish her porcelain like cheeks. Rue was not very good with small talk yet playing the role of someone else came easily to her. She could insert herself into a different role and the social awkwardness of Rue evaporated and the new person would take point. It was strange but Rue found she could hide her real self behind the roles she played, their personalities a shield to her true nature.

Rue would then bring herself to acknowledge Katsu, the fair haired boy had always made things easier on Rue. Their previous interaction had been easy and in truth, Rue had enjoyed the mission and her time alongside him and Kao. Rue's more genuine smile would cross her face as Katsu spoke. ''Nice to see you again Katsu, things have faired well since we last. I recently returned from a mission in the Earth Country. It was an experience, to say the least'' she'd reply trying to hide the sorrow behind her words. The mission had in fact been a failure and even though she had received no punishment for such, it still seemed like the loss of her comrades had been enough. It had been days since her return and she had still received no word from the others.. had she been wrong to flee the foreign country?. Only time would tell.

Bastian smiled as the young woman introduced herself, not so much ignoring Katsu's inadvertent introduction of the young woman; he simply wanted to allow her to introduce herself. Her sudden expression of shock, perhaps realizing she was staring, was not missed on Bastian. Though he pretended not to notice, not much of feat behind his comedic mask. "Well met, Lady Mikoto" he said in response to Rue giving her name, "I always enjoy coming to this place. It quiet and the view is always beautiful day or night. Its a decent respite from our line of work." His tone was calm yet slightly deep, like the back end of a wolf's howl.

It was then she made mention, though the statement seemed directed at Katsu, that she had just returned from Earth. "Sounds like a story worth telling," Bastian stated while going back to trying to skip rocks to the other side of the sparkling waters before him. "I'm sure it beats the hell out of the task they had me tending to in the village." As his statement finished he tossed another rock, this one skipping much farther than the others before falling short of the goal yet again. "Imperius Rex," he stated under his breathe as he picked up a few more rocks.

"I hear Earth is a dangerous place, no strict authority to keep the criminals in line. Is it as bad as the rumors say," Bastian inquired while picking up the rocks. In truth, there were no such rumors. In fact, the most that he knew about Earth was that it was on the same land mass as Lightning.

Suddenly an urge to leave came over him. Recalling he had a meeting to attend in regards to what he assumed was his coming promotion, Bastian tossed one last rock. Not even noticing that it had made it to the other side. "My apologies, I am reminded I have something to attend to. I hope to see you both again." He bowed his head respectfully at both and promptly made his exit.

[Exit. Not even sure if both of you are still on the site.]
